We are looking for someone to join our private college counseling practice. We are located in the Northeast, but we work with students throughout the country.
The majority of our clients are extremely motivated and accomplished high school students who are trying to get accepted into the most selective colleges in the country. Therefore, we are seeking an admission counselor who has a degree from an Ivy League or equivalent college, with the personality and ability to guide students (and parents) through the college admission process. This person should be up on the latest trends in college admissions and be able to navigate the students through the ups and downs of the entire process.
We do our best to make the college application process as enjoyable and stress-free as possible, but we have demanding clients. Your time would be somewhat flexible, but will require some afternoon, nights and weekends, when students are available to meet.
Responsibilities include motivating teenagers, helping them select their high school curriculum, honing their outside activities so there is a "story" to tell, creating the "all-important" college list, putting together a demonstrated interest strategy and a college visitation plan, prepping them for interviews, editing their essays for content and grammar, and reviewing ED/EA strategy with them.
Experience with college admissions is strongly preferred.
Bachelor's degree (advanced degree preferred)
Required licenses or certifications:
Did you graduate from an Ivy League college or MIT, Stanford or another TOP TIER college?
Have you worked in a college admission office? (preferred, but not required)
