Transfer Admission Counselor Undergraduate Admissions Reports to: Associate Director of Transfer Admission

Job Summary: Reporting to the Associate Director of Transfer Admission, the Transfer Admission Counselor will assist in the execution of an effective recruitment strategy in order to meet undergraduate transfer student enrollment goals.
Essential Functions: - Plan and execute an effective recruitment strategy, including but limited to private visits to community colleges, transfer fairs, decision days, and meeting with transfer counselors
- Review undergraduate applications, primarily focusing on transfer applications, but also assist with freshmen and international application review as needed
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with transfer counselors to facilitate the transfer process for prospective transfer students
- Conduct unofficial credit evaluations for accepted transfer students in a timely fashion
- Participate in online chats for prospective transfer students throughout the admission process
- Assist with the daily operations of the Office of Admission through daily admission presentations, interviews, on and off-campus admission events, Open Houses and Accepted Student Days as well as email, online chats and call campaigns.
- Liaise with various offices throughout the University as assigned, including but limited to the Deans' Offices
- Other duties as assigned.
Competencies - Excellent analytical, communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills required.
- Understanding of discretion related to handling confidential information is required.
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends is required.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Technolutions Slate, and Ellucian Banner is preferred.
- Ability to multi-task and manage multiple priorities with short notice and changing deadlines is preferred.
Work Environment This job operates in a professional office environment.
This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as personal computers, printers, fax machines, telephones, scanners, photocopiers, etc.
Physical Demands While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; move about; sit; to carry work and use controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; communicate; The employee must occasionally lift or move up to 20 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by the employee include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Thursday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Friday 8:30am-3:00pm. Occasional early morning, night, and weekend hours required for recruitment events.
Travel Travel for recruitment is required for this position. Most travel will be conducted within the tri-state region, and occasional overnight or international travel may be required.
Required Education and Experience: - A Bachelor's degree or equivalent is required.
Preferred Education and Experience: - Higher education or admission experience is preferred.
Additional Eligibility Qualifications - A valid driver's license and clean driving record is required.
