Serves as the primary Admissions office front desk support specialist, providing a professional, helpful, welcoming atmosphere and a positive attitude for faculty and staff, as well as prospective, new and current domestic and international students, families, callers and visitors to the Office of Admissions. Foster a positive working environment that honors the UTA Principles of Community, leads to healthy levels of productivity and contributes to UTA being increasingly known as a great place to work.
Conduct student recruitment activities in the office of Recruitment and Admissions. Counsel students, parents and other at various stages of the college search cycle on the admissions process, transfer credit, and undergraduate educational opportunities. Evaluate transcripts. Follow up with applicants with notification of their eligibility. Compose correspondence to answer inquiries. Oversee and serve as a resource for student workers staffing the front desk including training, creating work schedule, ensuring front desk coverage, and proper receipt, review, and disposition of all materials dealing with student admissions. Maintain and update the Office of Admissions front desk ensuring orderliness and cleanliness at the counter and in the lobby, as well as ensuring admissions information is readily available. Determine eligibility requirements for students with special admission problems. May counsel students on financial or housing arrangements briefly, referring undergraduate foreign admissions liaison with other departments on campus. Provide coworkers with information regarding policies, agendas, & cross campus resources, as well as serving as a liaison with other departments in facilitating individual student visits. Performs other duties as assigned.
Bachelor's degree. Two (2) years of experience counseling students in academic and scholastic matters, with a broad knowledge of institutional admission requirements or the equivalent experience.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Software. Detail Oriented. Ability to multitask in a busy office environment with multiple interruptions, including high volume phone calls and monitoring multiple email accounts.
