College Guidance Counselor

Houston Christian (HC) is accepting applications for the position of College Guidance Counselor to begin in 2022. The College Guidance Counselor has oversight and implements College guidance, testing, and events for the School. The College Guidance Counselor is available to serve students and parents with up-to-date college information and application processes, provide academic guidance,  and support the Counseling Department team, working in collaboration with all administrators, staff,  and faculty.  This is a full-time and exempt position.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s Degree
• College Guidance experience in private or public schools.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Classroom teaching experience is beneficial.
• Must be self-starting and able to multitask. Excellent verbal, visual, and written communication skills are required. Excellent presentation skill is important and expected.
• Proficient in basic technology applications. Google Apps knowledge is expected (i.e. Google Drive, Google Docs, Gmail).
• Contribution to the life of the school outside of regular duties is expected.
• Represent the school in a positive light and be a strong spokesperson for the school.
• Personal qualities of integrity, credibility, and committed to the mission and values of Houston Christian High School.
