Indiana University East is accepting applications for a Graduate Enrollment Counselor. The Graduate Enrollment Counselor will participate in all aspects of graduate student recruitment for IU Online and Indiana University East. This position will provide quality service, communication, and support to prospective graduate students throughout the admission and enrollment processes; and assist with special recruitment and enrollment initiatives.

Department-Specific Responsibilities:

• Communicates to prospective students, incomplete applicants, and applicants; maintain admissions files. Make regular contact with admitted and enrolled students during the weeks prior and first weeks of semester; take appropriate action to network with non-responsive, under-performing students. Provide positive, welcoming, friendly customer service via phone, email, online media, face-to-face, or other means of communication with admissions process, academic offerings, and campus resources.
• Monitors the technical status of admission applications from applicant through matriculation; download, monitor, and correct online applications; route applications through IU's seven campuses; work with CRM administrator to monitor and maintain prospect communication within the CRM system; provide various data entry functions for admissions applications.
• Develops and maintains a working knowledge of admissions included within the on-line student information system; look up and provide general information for students when possible and refer them to other staff when necessary. Determine priorities for providing information or for referring students to other staff to allow for the best processing of their questions. Enter routine computer transactions into the student information system.
• Recruits and prepares students to enroll into online collaborative graduate degree programs or on-campus programs at IU East, including managing all aspects of the business funnel from prospect generation to matriculation. All recruitment processes will need to be in sync with campus recruitment planning. Provide personalized and individualized recruitment of prospective graduate students to IU Online and IU East graduate programs.
• Answers telephones and, when necessary, directs calls to appropriate staff members to provide best service to students. Assist with maintenance of the graduate application platform.
• Reads and understands forms and processes for admissions, provide proper documents to students, and verify completeness of forms and accompanying materials.
• Develops collaborative working relationships with recruitment teammates on all IU campuses, counterparts in Admissions, Financial Aid, academic programs, and other Office of Online Education partners to achieve and exceed enrollment targets.
• Provides clerical support to the Director of Graduate Admissions Operations. Provide filing, data entry, telephone, and clerical assistance to admissions. Assist with special projects and mailings of the department.
• Represents the Office of Online Education (OOE), IU Online, and all the campuses both internally and externally. Coordinate IU Online prospect/applicant conversion plan with campus recruitment plans to ensure efficiency and effectiveness of resource utilization.

General Responsibilities:

• Maintains, implements and oversees a holistic recruitment yield tactical plan for recruitment.
• Develops, implements, and administers plans, programs, and events for general and targeted student recruitment in support of organizational goals.
• Integrates a diverse and strategic communications strategy in collaboration with other departments, geared toward specific student declared academic major, career interests, and geographic factors.
• Identifies and develops partnerships for outreach to prospective students and influencers.
• Interprets academic policies and exercises authority and independent judgment.
• Plans, implements, and evaluates programs and processes and determines the effectiveness of markets and strategies. Exercises independent judgment and uses census data and modeling tools to identify effective marketing plans and strategies to address specific populations.
• Serves in a collaborative role with internal and external stakeholders to identify targets of opportunity to attract and enroll under-represented populations. Participates in the assessment and evaluation of various models.
• May attend meetings or serve on committees with the admissions stakeholders, including all staff meetings, recruitment, and outreach team meetings, customer service lead meetings, and undergraduate recruitment council meetings; may provide guidance to other admissions counselors.

EDUCATION

Required

• Bachelor's degree.

• 2 years of experience in admissions, higher education, marketing, or a related field.
