Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Counsel and advise prospective first-year and transfer students on admissions requirements, policies, and procedures on location or virtually, via phone and email.
• Render admissions decisions on applications, applying appropriate criteria, and using discernment and good judgment.
• Ability to conduct information sessions for prospective students.
• Manage recruitment territory. Travel extensively in North Carolina to conduct high school visits, attend college fairs, interact with diverse student and family populations and develop relationships with high school counselors.
• Reside in the Greensboro or Durham metro area and work non-traditional hours as needed.

Minimum Experience / Education:

Preferred Education Skills and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree and two (2) years of related experience working with high school students or prospective students preferably in an admissions or advising role from a non-profit institution.
• Experience reviewing admissions applications and/or advising for competitive academic programs.
• Experience with presenting to large groups both in person and in a virtual format.
• Evidence of attention to detail and exceptional verbal/nonverbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently to accomplish essential job duties.
• Reside in the Greensboro or Durham metro area.
• Special consideration will be given to those with experience recruiting students to UNC Charlotte.
