Job Description:To aid, guide, and provide information to various prospective MSMU student populations concerning available financial aid programs and requirements. Conduct specialized outreach activities related to increasing and promoting awareness and participation in the financial aid process among potentially eligible students and families. Assist with the coordination of one or more grant and/or scholarship programs for specific undergraduate and/or graduate programs.
Duties/Responsibilities:- Evaluate financial aid applications and required documentation to determine financial need and program eligibility for a variety of Federal, State and institutional programs.
- Perform needs analysis and assists in packaging students for financial aid.
- Assist with the administration of federal, state, and institutional aid resources.
- Communicate and respond to inquiries from prospective students and families.
- Coordination of one or more grant and scholarship programs.
- Perform financial aid outreach and follow-up activities to targeted populations; present financial aid information to students, parents, staff and the general public in a variety of settings, such as high schools, on-campus events, businesses and community organizations.
- Provide information and assistance to students and parents regarding eligibility, regulations and requirements of various federal, state and institutional financial programs such as grants, loans, work-study, and scholarships.
- Represents the financial aid office at on campus and off campus admission outreach events.
- Coordinates enrollment presentations with Admissions.
- Serves as liaison to the staff of the various Admission Offices.
- Attend training sessions and workshops to remain current on financial aid regulations and procedures.
Other Duties and Responsibilities- Assists Admission Counselors with managing financial aid inquiries.
- Assists with development of financial aid consumer information for prospective students.
- Maintains compliance with all state SFA rules and regulations.
Requirements:Knowledge:- Sufficient working knowledge of financial aid regulations, federal loan programs, and federal and state grant programs
- Understanding of the purpose and structure of financial aid programs
- Knowledge of financial aid acronyms desired
- Familiarity with needs analysis
- Understanding of the admission and enrollment process at a liberal arts university
Abilities and Skills: - Effectively organize, prioritize and handle multiple tasks to meet established deadlines

- Effectively communicate financial aid information to parents and students

Education: - Bachelor's degree preferred
Experience:- Minimum of two years' experience working in a higher education environment. 3-5 years' experience preferred.
