The International Admission Counselor supports INTO Saint Louis University, delivers university-designed Academic English and Pathway programs to support and prepare international students who do not meet the requirement for direct entry for successful academic careers at Saint Louis University. The incumbent is responsible for evaluating foreign applications and credentials to assist in the admissions decision process for international applicants to INTO SLU Pathway and Academic English programs. The incumbent also serves as the Designated School Official for F-1 student visa purposes. Evaluates foreign credentials; converts foreign grading scales; and assists in admissions decision processing for international applicants to INTO SLU Pathway and Academic English programs.

Serves as the Designated School Official for F-1 student visa purposes; and maintains current information on immigration matters.
Evaluates financial and application documentation; issues immigration documents for new and continuing international students; and updates student records in various databases.
Conducts research to determine if post-secondary institution(s) are accredited and/or recognized using reference books and internet resources to determine whetherÂ SLUÂ requirements are met.
Makes informed decisions based on interpretation of complex standards and foreign credentials from all over the world; and serves a critical role in the students personal success and the reputation of Saint Louis University and theÂ INTOÂ SLUÂ program.
Liaises with SLUs Offices of Admission and International Services along with theÂ INTOÂ Application Processing Center on application decisions, processes, and procedures.
Works with enrollment managers and credential evaluators at otherÂ IUPpartnerships to advance best practices.
Remains up-to-date on evaluation standards, educational practices, and the latest information on academic policy regarding international admissions standards at the undergraduate and graduate level.
Contributes to programs such as orientation, educational events, and other Center-wide programs and activities as assigned.
Performs other projects and duties as assigned.
Bachelors degree; supplemented with one (1) year of experience evaluating foreign academic credentials at a post-secondary institution. All candidates must be a U.S. Citizen or have Permanent Resident status at time of application in order to serve as a Designated School Official for F-1 visa purposes.

Designated School Officials cannot be fully remote positions per Federal guidelines. This position is based on the Saint Louis University campus in St. Louis, Missouri.
