This position is responsible for recruiting high school seniors to the University and providing general oversight of the first-year admissions team. Under general direction of the Director of Admissions, the Coordinator for Undergraduate Admissions is responsible for leading the recruitment tactics for first-year students. This individual will design and implement programming to support high school students and families through the transition from high school to A&M-San Antonio.
Responsibilities:
Oversee day-to-day management of the first-year admissions counselors including conducting weekly meetings, performance evaluations, and more.
Develop and arrange on-going training for the first-year admissions counselors.
Build recruitment strategies for assigned recruitment territories (may include out-of-state markets.)
Utilize the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tool and other recruitment technology tools such as Rep Visits.
Build connections with high school counselors and community leaders.
Organize and plan recruitment travel for all first-year efforts, including NACAC, TACRAO and STARN fairs.
Assist with in-person and virtual recruitment fairs, high school visits, admissions presentations, special events and other recruitment-related initiatives.
Provide specialized programs to recruit special segments, including: military-affiliated, Top 10%, Early College High School students, DREAMers and more.
Stay current on recruiting trends and efforts.
Provide data analytics and weekly reports.
Other duties as assigned.
Must be willing to work evenings and weekends. Overnight travel is required.
Required Education and Experience:
Preferred Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in applicable field.
Prior experience with academic advising, course articulation, and/or recruitment preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge and understanding of Texas Common Course Numbering System
Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications
Knowledge of functions of higher education
Knowledge of recruitment and marketing
Knowledge of CRM or event planning software
Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
Strong oral presentation skills and written communication skills.
Excellent time management skills.
Ability to lead and motivate others.
