William James College is seeking a full-time Admission Counselor to participate in the recruitment of prospective students. The successful candidate will be a critical member of the admissions staff who serves as an admissions representative charged with nurturing prospects by providing outstanding customer service to convert them into enrolled students. The Admissions Counselor will be responsible for:
Recruiting and enrolling prospective students from colleges, partner organizations, and community-based agencies.
Planning, coordinating, and conducting virtual, on-campus, and off-campus group information sessions for prospective students.
Analyzing prospect and applicant pools that inform recruitment strategy adjustments that promote program yields that meet inquiry and conversion goals.
Reviewing application materials and maintaining accurate administrative records.
Communicating accurate and compelling information about programs offered at the college and contributing to the college’s commitment to diversity and inclusion.
Periodic evening and weekend work required.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree and one year of experience in a related field preferred.
Familiarity with student recruitment or agencies that assist students in issues of educational access;
Experience with CRM systems required; experience with using Slate a plus;
Knowledge of and enthusiasm for the mission of William James College – sensitivity to multicultural issues and a commitment to building a socially and economically diverse student body;
Experience and comfort with virtual recruitment and on-line program deliveries is essential;
Effective time management;
Demonstrated ability to multitask, and work well under pressure;
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills;
A valid driver’s license, and ability to travel to off-campus events;
Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
