The primary responsibility of the Health and Safety Programs Recruiter is to locate potential students for the 6 College of Health and Human Services (CHHS) programs and to lead potential students to become applicants. Department-Specific Responsibilities

• Identifies sources where potential students will likely be found.
• Initiates and maintains contact with recruitment sources to build ongoing relationships.
• Develops strategies to maximize outreach to potential students through traditional means (e.g., career fairs, open houses, professional organizations, graduate, and undergraduate degree programs within IU and at other colleges and universities) and contemporary means (e.g., social media and targeted internet advertising).
• Develops an annual calendar of internal and external recruitment and yield management events.
• Collaborates with Office of Marketing and Enrollment Management to create digital marketing for the degree programs.
• Collaborates with universities, both domestic and international, with which CHHS programs have an institutional relationship to maintain and expand the pipeline of students to our degree programs.
• Makes presentations, both live and virtual, to recruiting sources to inform potential students about our degree programs.
• Attends fairs or other events, locally and regionally, to represent the degree programs.
• Identifies additional fairs or events where participation could reasonably be expected to lead to interest in the degree programs.
• Maintains CRM data about leads, contacts, and outcomes for the degree programs.
• Collaborates with CHHS Program Directors (or their designees) to evaluate and follow up on recruiting sources and leads.
• Collaborates with the University Advancement office and Alumni Relations to identify ways the Alumni Relations Office can assist with recruiting for the degree programs.
• Collaborates with other CHHS staff to transition recruiting leads into applicants and applicants through the nurturing process to matriculation.
• Reports to the Dean of the College of Health and Human Services.

General Responsibilities

• Maintains, implements and oversees a holistic recruitment yield tactical plan for recruitment.
• Develops, implements, and administers plans, programs, and events for general and targeted student recruitment in support of organizational goals.
• Integrates a diverse and strategic communications strategy in collaboration with other departments, geared toward specific student declared academic major, career interests, and geographic factors.
• Identifies and develops partnerships for outreach to prospective students and influencers.
• Interprets academic policies and exercises authority and independent judgment.
• Plans, implements, and evaluates programs and processes and determines the effectiveness of markets and strategies. Exercises independent judgment and uses census data and modeling tools to identify effective marketing plans and strategies to address specific populations.
• Serves in a collaborative role with internal and external stakeholders to identify targets of opportunity to attract and enroll under-represented populations. Participates in the assessment and evaluation of various models.
• May attend meetings or serve on committees with the admissions stakeholders, including all staff meetings, recruitment, and outreach team meetings, customer service lead meetings, and undergraduate recruitment council meetings; may provide guidance to other admissions counselors.

EDUCATION

Required

• Bachelor's degree

Preferred

• Master's degree in marketing or related business area

WORK EXPERIENCE

• 1 year in admissions, higher education, marketing, or related field

This role requires the ability to effectively communicate and to operate a computer and other standard office productivity equipment. The position involves sedentary work as well as periods of time moving around an office environment and the campus. The person in this role must be able to perform the essential functions with or without an accommodation.
