The Office of Admissions is the front-facing department to the public for undergraduate recruitment for the Indiana University Bloomington campus.

The Office of Admissions is responsible for attracting, recruiting, and enrolling new undergraduate students to the IU Bloomington campus, counseling prospective students and their families about the admissions process, providing accurate information to the public about our recruiting requirements and standards, and promoting Indiana University Bloomington.

Department-Specific Responsibilities

• Responsible for attracting, recruiting, and enrolling new students to the IU Bloomington campus through the design and implementation of coordinated recruitment processes and the management of various projects on the Office of Admissions Communications Team.
• Executes work in a cross-functional recruitment model.
• Designs and implements coordinated recruitment processes for domestic admissions for the Bloomington Campus.
• Represents the IU Office of Admissions within assigned territory for recruitment at high schools, college fairs, conferences and seminars.
• Uses data-informed strategies in the development and execution of territory management and other recruitment activities to increase student yields.
• As a member of the communications team, helps develop, coordinate and assess marketing and communication collateral that provide students and their influencers with the necessary information to navigate the enrollment process at IU.
• Manages and supports projects related to the lead generation, admissions print communications, and campus partner communication support.
• Develops and manages a detailed project schedule and work plan.
• Provides project updates on a consistent basis to various stakeholders about strategy, adjustments, and progress.
• Applies an asset-based approach to their work, making Indiana University welcoming to all.

General Responsibilities

• Maintains, implements and oversees a holistic recruitment yield tactical plan for recruitment.
• Develops, implements, and administers plans, programs, and events for general and targeted student recruitment in support of organizational goals.
• Integrates a diverse and strategic communications strategy in collaboration with other departments, geared toward specific student declared academic major, career interests, and geographic factors.
• Identifies and develops partnerships for outreach to prospective students and influencers.
• Interprets academic policies and exercises authority and independent judgment.
• Plans, implements, and evaluates programs and processes and determines the effectiveness of markets and strategies. Exercises independent judgment and uses census data and modeling tools to identify effective marketing plans and strategies to address specific populations.
• Serves in a collaborative role with internal and external stakeholders to identify targets of opportunity to attract and enroll under-represented populations. Participates in the assessment and evaluation of various models.
• May attend meetings or serve on committees with the admissions stakeholders, including all staff meetings, recruitment, and outreach team meetings, customer service lead meetings, and undergraduate recruitment council meetings; may provide guidance to other admissions counselors.

This role requires the ability to effectively communicate and to operate a computer and other standard office productivity equipment. The position involves sedentary work as well as periods of time moving around an office environment and the campus. The person in this role must be able to perform the essential functions with or without an accommodation.

Eligibility for a hybrid work schedule (mix between in-person 4 days a week and remote 1 day a week) may be possible, subject to change based on university policy and business needs of the department.
