The Director of Undergraduate Admissions is responsible for leading the recruitment efforts of the Office of Admissions, providing supervision of Admissions counselors/staff and Assistant Director of Admissions. This is a full-time, salaried, twelve-month position, and the individual must be willing to work special on-campus and off-campus recruitment events, which will include some evenings, weekends, and moderate travel. This position will work under the direct supervision of the Vice President for Enrollment and Marketing (VP).
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The specific job functions of this position may include but are not limited to the following:
Execute the admissions policies of the university.
Supervise recruitment and admission of all on-campus undergraduate students throughout the year.
Supervise and lead the frontline Admissions team by providing guidance to and motivation of the team; directing recruitment plans and focus in according with the established recruitment strategies; Responsible for ensuring Admissions teams meets enrollment goals.
Share and monitor performance goals of the Admissions team and each member to be used for mentoring, training, and motivating to maximize individual and team performance.
Perform tasks alongside Admissions team as needed, including counseling prospective students in office, via telephone, email, text and/or social media regarding Lee University academic programs, admissions policies and procedures and other enrollment-related information.
Be willing to prepare and deliver presentations to small and large groups; conduct student interviews; provide information and guidance to prospective students and their families.
Support and work collaboratively with the Assistant Director of Admissions in recruitment planning, organizing, and implementation of marketing strategies targeted specifically at prospective freshmen and parents; as well as, providing support to the Assistant Director in their unique responsibilities.
Represent the university at professional meetings dealing with admissions.
Supervise the development and implementation of the yearly recruitment activities and travel calendar for undergraduate admissions collaboratively with Admissions staff.
Support and participate in the implementation of an annual marketing strategy.
Assist with planning, organizing and leading Lee University on-campus recruitment, including but not limited to private campus visits, and on-campus recruitment events (example: Private tours, Preview events, Link-Up events, and Lee Day weekend).
Represent the university at designated college fairs, general church functions, local church activities, and community functions alongside Admissions staff.
Participate in the application, review, and awarding of Lee University merit-based scholarships.
Contribute to conversations regarding technology improvements and implementation.
Serve as the Admissions representative to the NCAA Compliance Committee
Participate in the development of and distribution of all literature descriptive of the university admissions policies as well as general promotional materials for the university.
Work collaboratively with the VP to evaluate recruitment goals and progress by day, week, month, etc.
Execute special projects as assigned by the VP.
QUALIFICATIONS
Demonstrates leadership ability and experience to lead Admissions staff in daily operations, recruitment efforts, special events and special projects for undergraduate admissions.
Ability to delegate and supervise responsibilities to other employees to achieve departmental goals
Ability to provide excellent customer service through both verbal and written communication
Strong comfort level and skill presenting and speaking to small and large crowds
Must be multi-task oriented and willing to handle multiple projects at once
Possess strong organizational and people skills
Maintain professional image and a strong work ethic
Must be proficient in Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and can learn other required programs such as Colleague and Target X.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s Degree Required
Preference will be given to Lee University graduates
5-7 years of related experience

While performing the duties of this position, the Director of Undergraduate Admissions may spend a significant amount of time sitting at their desk or in meetings. However, throughout the day there may be occasions the Director of Undergraduate Admissions would stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, balance, kneel, or bend. During special events such as Preview, Link-Ups, Lee Day, registration, college fairs, church visits, and other recruitment activities the position may require extended time standing. The Director of Undergraduate Admissions must be able to lift and/or move up to 25 lbs.
This position requires the individual to drive to recruitment events locally and across the United States, and they must have a valid license to operate a motor vehicle.
