Job Overview: The Admissions Counselor is responsible for recruiting, admitting, and enrolling academically qualified students in academic programs within the Division of Professional and Graduate Studies.
Essential Functions:
Responsible for achieving new student enrollment goals.
Establishes and maintains active communication and follow-up with prospective students; counsels student applicants concerning program offerings, admissions, financial aid, and career planning.
Conducts on-campus and off-site recruitment of students through individual and group information and interview sessions, campus visits, open houses, corporate/community visits, etc.
Maintains student appointment schedule for prospective students and applicants (scheduled and walk-ins).
Maintains contact with prospective students using email, telephone, text, and social media resources.
Reads, interprets and evaluates students academic credentials and makes admissions denial recommendations to the Director of Admissions.
Participates as an active member of the recruitment team; assists with special programs strategies; composes routine letters; compiles data for reports; maintains calendar; processes applications; schedules appointments; maintains confidential files; and inputs/retrieves data with CRM software.
Monitors and provides suggestions for improving and facilitating workflow for admissions recruitment.
Oversees admissions in the absence of the Director and Assistant Director of Admissions.
Completes additional tasks at the request of the Director of Admissions.
Qualifications:
Excellent communication skills, including demonstrated skill in verbal and written expression.
Previous experience working with CRM software.
Ability to work autonomously and confidentially; able to make independent decisions, as appropriate; ability to set/attain goals and follow through with projects.
Proficient with standard Word, Excel, calendar, and email programs.
Ability to maintain composure in high-stress situations
Education: Bachelors Degree
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
One or more years of experience working for a university/college admissions or related experience is preferred.
Excellent verbal and writing skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
Basic proficiency in social media platforms.
Special Work Schedule Requirements:
General office environment
Evening work is expected, and some weekends.
Some local travel is required.
Work Schedule Requirements: Hybrid Availability:Yes Monday - Friday, 8:30 am to 4:30 pm
Benefits: Full-time employees are eligible to receive medical, dental, and vision benefits. Full-Time employees can earn between 18-23 paid time off a year. The employer covers tuition remission after 90 days of employment and covers 100 % (employees responsible for books and technology fees).
