About the Department
The University of Cincinnati Lindner College of Business delivers academic excellence with an emphasis on experiential learning in a multi-disciplinary environment, adding real-world value to students and the communities they serve. The college enrolls over 4,200 undergraduate students and 1,100 graduate students and provides them with unique opportunities to build professional experience, cultural competency and leadership skills through co-operative education, internships, field-study research, and cross-disciplinary studios. The college's new $120 million, 225,000-square-foot facility, Carl H. Lindner Hall, which opened in Fall 2019, positions Lindner among the nation's best business schools with excellent programs and high growth potential. The Lindner Graduate Programs Office contains eleven current staff who support the eight residential and six online graduate programs offered by the college.
Job Overview
The Lindner College of Business Graduate Program Office (GPO) is seeking two experienced Senior Admissions Counselors to aid in the recruitment efforts for graduate programs. This position will report to the Director of Graduate Recruitment & Student Success. The candidate will be responsible for the development and implementation of recruitment strategies, marketing materials, programs, and events, for 30+ Doctorate, Specialized Masters, Graduate Certificate & MBA programs. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter, creative, driven, and able to work collaboratively on a team but also independently as needed.
This is a highly visible position responsible for increasing awareness and building enthusiasm for the graduate programs in Lindner College of Business through student recruitment initiatives, outreach and communication, and specialized events. Support in the day-to-day operations of the office include: answering questions, recommending alternative guidelines (when applicable), maintaining and staying abreast of trends in student recruitment and changes in academic programs, assisting with development of long-range plans and strategies to achieve unit, department and university goals for areas of responsibility, monitoring and achieving established goals, and compiling data required for internal and external reports and assessments.
The Counselor will generate inquiries from prospective students with the goal of qualifying and converting them to enrolled students. The individual will represent the Lindner College of Business Graduate Programs Office at state and national professional meetings, recruitment/graduate fairs, events, and presentations. The candidate maintains collaborative relationships with departments/units regarding recruitment efforts that enrich the student experience and is responsible for developing relationships with other academic colleges and units across campus.
Essential Functions
Serve and manage Graduate Business Programs in the Lindner College of Business to ensure the university reaches various enrollment goals while being fiscally responsible. Serve as the primary resource for contacts in that area.
Maintain, track and use information about student inquiries, partnerships and organizations to advise and recruit students from prospect through application and enrollment.
Increase representation from one or more strategic populations based on the demographics of the territory (i.e., under-represented, high-achieving, transfer, out-of-state, and international).
Implement and explain university admissions policies.
Coordinate one or more specialized programmatic areas such as on-campus and off-campus events, tele-counseling, campus visits, social media, communications and marketing, regional campus referrals, etc. The scope of the programmatic area(s) likely involves partnerships and efforts beyond the Lindner College of Business Graduate Programs Office.
Oversee special projects and/or initiatives as assigned.
Pre-qualify applications for admission in partnership with faculty and release admission decisions. Accuracy and consistency will be needed to ensure the university is properly aligned to reach various enrollment goals.
Use a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system to maintain records and prepare reports as required; generate reports and assist in analyzing and interpreting data for future planning and evaluation.
Conduct telephone, onsite and virtual appointments to provide information about the institution and the admissions process and requirements.
Qualify candidates, explain academic programs, and assess prospective students' fit within the program.
Provide excellent customer service to students throughout each step: Inquiry, application, and confirmation.
Monitor the application process from initial application submission through confirmation.
Essential Functions Continued
Implement lead management strategies that span from the initial inquiry through confirmation, which includes generating new leads and nurturing current leads.
Effectively use CRM to track interactions and progression of all leads.
Assist in the execution of organizational processes/procedures set by the Lindner Graduate Programs Office, Enrollment Management and the Graduate College.
Assist in the management of processes to advance service levels and the determination of internal rules, policies, procedures, and controls.
Achieve daily key performance indicators related to speed to lead, call management, and vetting applications.
Work closely with the retention team on a smooth transition process post-confirmation.
Collaborate on recruitment initiatives with program stakeholders including faculty, staff, and alumni.

Required Education
Bachelor's Degree

Three (3) years of relevant experience.
