Reporting to the University Director of International Enrollment, the International Admissions Counselor performs significant recruiting and admissions functions necessary to accomplish undergraduate and graduate international student enrollment goals. The incumbent participates in all aspects of recruitment and admissions work including, but not limited to: the representation of the University to diverse audiences, nationally and internationally; planning and implementing recruitment strategies and activities in all aspects of recruitment; evaluation of foreign and other credentials of applicants seeking admission; some travel internationally may be required; secondary school, college and university visits online or in-person; inquiry/prospect management; and correspondence.
Required Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree required.
2. Ability to analyze data and make recommendations.
3. Valid U.S. driver's license from the state in which the candidate resides and valid passport, and ability to travel nationally and internationally. Must have an acceptable driving record in accordance with the University's Motor Vehicle policy.
4. Must have authorization to work in the US.
5. Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.
6. Ability to work independently and as an effective team member.
7. Familiarity with computer systems and social media platforms.
8. Familiarity with Department of Homeland Security (DHS) guidelines relating to issuance of student visa documentation preferred.
9. Ability to work with diverse cultural and academic backgrounds.
10. Willingness and ability to travel worldwide if required.
11. Must be willing and able to work overtime and/or at other FDU locations as required.
12. Employment is contingent upon a satisfactory background check. Candidates for hire will be required to sign a waiver authorizing the background check and produce a Social Security Card.
