Summary: Admissions Counselors report to the Director of Admissions. This position is responsible for recruiting incoming students, maintaining communication throughout a prospect’s experience working with the Office of Admissions, building relationships with community partners and prospective families, and helping prospective students complete admissions steps until they are officially enrolled.
This position is a full-time exempt position that works year-round on campus in Nashville, TN. This is not a remote position.
Responsibilities:
Manages and performs recruitment activities to achieve targeted enrollment goals and expand the university’s success. Provides advice, information, guidance and assistance to students, parents, guidance counselors and others related to the enrollment and admissions processes and academic requirements. Seeks to help remove barriers to enrollment as they arise.
Develops and maintains relationships with high schools, community partners, educational partners and church leaders with the goal of widening the pool of prospective students, including making presentations to groups.
Travels to churches and college fairs in state and out of state (as assigned).
Delivers excellent customer service and hospitality to prospective students and their families.
Follows designated processes as prompted by CRM (Recruit) for effective/productive communication and recruiting while also using creativity, strategy, and initiative to drive further communication with prospects, families, and community partners.
Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree is required.
Communicates effectively, both orally and in writing.
Ability to travel as needed. Ability to work on campus Monday – Friday, 8:00AM to 4:30pm with some evenings/weekends required as needed.
Works effectively with diverse populations.
Analyzes, strategizes, and solves problems in order to make independent evaluative judgments.
Performs complex tasks and prioritizes multiple tasks with skills in organizing resources and establishing priorities.
Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office applications and databases.
Experience in higher education environment as an employee preferred but not required
Prior experience with Trevecca Nazarene University preferred but not required
Sales background preferred but not required

Travel is required for this position. As such, a valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and reliable transportation are required.
In order to be eligible for mileage reimbursement, must carry personal vehicle insurance that meets minimum coverage amounts as designated by the university.
