Join Our Team as Director of Transfer Admissions and Partnerships

Are you a dynamic leader with a passion for creating seamless pathways for transfer students? The University of Houston–Downtown (UHD) is seeking a strategic and relationship-driven Director of Transfer Admissions and Partnerships to expand and strengthen partnerships with community colleges and champion transfer student success.

In this pivotal role, you’ll lead initiatives that drive transfer enrollment, promote innovative articulation agreements, and enhance the student experience from admission to graduation. You’ll collaborate across departments, supervise a dedicated team, and build lasting relationships with community college partners across the region.

What You’ll Do:

• Lead the development of new community college partnerships and enhance existing agreements to promote transfer success.
• Partner with Academic Affairs to streamline transfer articulation, reverse transfer, and credit evaluation processes.
• Manage daily operations of the Transfer Center, recruit and develop a high-performing team, and foster a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with marketing, academic leaders, and external stakeholders to design effective recruitment strategies and communication tools.
• Develop and maintain tracking systems to assess transfer student outcomes and inform future strategy.
• Stay current on state and federal transfer policies and best practices, and drive improvements in UHD’s internal transfer practices.

Who You Are:

• A strategic thinker with at least five years of progressive experience in higher education, student services, and/or enrollment management.
• An experienced professional with a strong understanding of community college systems, transfer student recruitment, and academic advising.
• A collaborative leader skilled in building consensus, solving problems, and managing cross-functional teams.
• Comfortable using data and systems (experience with PeopleSoft and EAB is a plus) to drive decision-making and measure success.

Qualifications:

• Master’s degree required (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
• Experience working with both traditional and adult learners.
• Preferred: background in community college advising, administration, and enrollment systems.
