Detailed Job Description The Admissions Counselor works within a geographic region toward the successful recruitment of prospective deaf and hard of hearing students to RIT: carry out student recruitment travel, present to students and stakeholders about RIT/NTID, review applications to facilitate admission decision to RIT and work with students and stakeholders toward enrolled student status.

Must be willing to travel roughly fifty days during the peak fall travel season and throughout the year.
Bachelors degree required- preferably in social sciences, business, communication and/or marketing.
Must be highly flexible and able to work in an environment that emphasizes customer service relations and measurable work outcomes.
Excellent interpersonal, presentation skills and communication skills, written and sign language skills to communicate across communication modes.
American Sign Language fluency is required.
Confidentiality and clear boundaries in dealing with diverse populations, including minors. Criminal background check, to be done by RIT, is required for job clearance.
PLEASE NOTE: The individual hired for this position will be required to have a pre-employment Motor Vehicle check, and the Motor Vehicle Report must clear RIT's Safe Driving Policy. (see Page 4)
