The Admissions Specialist IV, under general supervision, provides advanced customer service to students, faculty, and staff through various means of communication. Offers information regarding university services and information related to admissions, academics, registration procedures, advising services, residency, transcripts, academic programs, and financial aid.
Responsibilities:
Verifies admissions application data from ApplyTexas in the Banner student information system and enters data and makes corrections, as needed
Assists in collecting, updating, and processing student record information
Processes applications, transcripts, test scores and other credentials for admission from prospective undergraduate students and determines admission status
Matches admission credentials to file and updates status in Admissions systems (Banner, department logs, etc.)
Evaluates undergraduate domestic transcripts, which may include: evaluating course equivalencies, academic status, repeated courses, etc.
Evaluates undergraduate foreign credential evaluations, which may include: evaluating course equivalencies, academic status, repeated courses, etc.
Enters transfer course data into Banner
Handles internal telephone calls and departmental email duty. Sends correspondence to applicants who email the departmental account or routes to appropriate department
Provides in-service information/material for Admissions counselors and other staff on occasion.
Receives Admission audit reports and makes corrections, as needed
Evaluates students in an effective, accurate, and timely manner while adhering to all federal, state, system, and institution policies and procedures
Must provide excellent customer service
Performs other duties as assigned.
Communicates final evaluation decisions regarding course equivalencies, substitutions, and hours transferred to students, faculty, department chairs, advisors, Financial Aid staff, and Enrollment Services staff.
Assists in training of new staff and student assistants and helps maintain SOP manuals and documentation
Helps track and maintain incoming documents and related logs
Education and Experience:
Associateâ™s degree in an applicable field.
Five years of related experience.
