Description:
Responsible for the operations of a large program or center at the university. Oversees staff, budgets, and projects.
• Manages the admissions staff in the Welcome Center by setting goals to meet the objectives of the institution's enrollment management plan and hires and trains competent staff to support such articulated goals. • Maintains a wide-reaching recruitment plan encompassing targeted areas for both freshman and transfer students. • Communicates effectively with internal UH community and with the external community of constituent schools and colleges, businesses and industries regarding recruitment. • Coordinates the integration and management of computing support for domestic and international admissions and recruitment processing operations. • Prepares recurring statistical management reports regarding admissions and analyzes enrollment reports to revise recruitment plans. • Prepares and submits Student Search Service information and implements direct mail campaigns using The College Board, ACT, College Bound Selection Service, and the National Research Center on College and University Admissions.
Experience: Requires a minimum of five (5) years of directly job-related experience. Certification/Licensing: None.

The ideal candidate for this position should possess the following: • Higher Education experience, especially in undergraduate admissions. • Service leadership skills including mutual respect, active listening, and responsiveness. • Must be a multi-tasker, extremely organized, and have the ability to work in a face-paced, high-pressure environment, with strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills. • Ability to clearly interpret and implement policies and procedures. • Ability to interact with all levels of internal and external constituents. • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. • Experience working in student information system/s, PeopleSoft preferred.
