Job Description:
Reporting to the Assistant Dean of Law Admissions, the Law Admissions Counselor / Assistant Director of Law Admissions serves as a key member of the Law Admissions team, engaging with prospective students and other constituents throughout the admissions cycle to effectively recruit a class based on the school's objectives and targets. Shares responsibility for coordinating student visits to campus, assisting with planning and implementation of Admitted Student Open Houses and other recruitment events for prospective and accepted students. Contributes to external and internal Law Admissions office operational needs. Reads law applicant files.

Essential Functions:
Reads law applicant files as assigned by the Assistant Dean.
Counsels prospective students (in person, by telephone, and through e-mail) regarding the admissions process and the program of study. Responds to general email inquiries.
Assists with planning and coordinating logistics for Admitted Student Open Houses as well as other recruiting efforts for prospective and accepted students. Administers post-event surveys to measure levels of effectiveness.
Shares responsibility with Law Admissions team members for monthly general information sessions over Zoom for prospective law students.
Facilitates campus visits by students, either in-person or virtually.
Prepares, generates and updates reports from the Law Admissions database and updates applicant files. Updates files in the Law Admissions database as needed. Modifies and maintains data for reports using Excel and databases.
Coordinates recruitment event efforts; registers team members for events, promotes events to prospective students, and maintains contact with students after attendance.
Engages in travel to represent the School of Law at local, state, and national events.
Conducts follow-up contacts with prospective students from the point of inquiry through matriculation.
Serves on committees, work groups, and task forces as assigned. Develops and cultivates relationships with constituents to promote the School of Law.
Contributes to Law Admissions communications strategy including maintenance of the admissions web presence and social media accounts.
Additional related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
A Bachelor’s degree is required. J.D. or Master’s degree preferred.
Admissions experience is preferred but not required.
A demonstrated appreciation for diversity is critical, as is the ability to work collaboratively, independently, and with a high level of energy and responsibility.
Strong communication skills and demonstrated organizational abilities are expected.
Knowledge of or ability to learn admissions office systems including Workday and Unite is important.
Must be able to work occasional evenings and some weekends as necessary for events.
Attention to detail and a high level of organization are required.
Pay commensurate with experience.
