Job Summary:
Ohio University is seeking an experienced, relationship-driven professional to serve as a Senior Admissions Advisor, playing a key role in advancing undergraduate recruitment and enrollment goals. This position will guide prospective students and families through the admissions process, applying deep knowledge of academic programs, policies, and student services to support informed decision-making. Through a combination of strategic outreach, personalized engagement, and data-informed decision-making, you will directly influence enrollment outcomes and the overall student experience.
As a leader within the admissions team, the Senior Admissions Advisor will manage recruitment strategy for assigned territories or populations, including planning and executing outreach, travel, and engagement initiatives. This position will represent Ohio University at high-impact events, build and sustain strong relationships with students, families, school counselors, and community partners, and translate institutional strengths into compelling, student-centered messaging. In addition to evaluating applications and contributing to admission decisions, the Senior Admissions Advisor will help ensure consistency and quality in the review process while navigating complex and nuanced applicant scenarios with confidence.
The Senior Admissions Advisor leverages recruitment and enrollment data to refine outreach strategies, contributes to team and office initiatives, and serves as a resource to colleagues by mentoring new staff and supporting student employees. This role is ideal for a strategic and self-directed professional who is passionate about higher education, thrives in a fast-paced, people-centered environment, enjoys balancing independent work with collaboration, and is motivated to make a measurable impact.
This position is being posted in conjunction with https://www.ohiouniversityjobs.com/postings/56685. Only one position will be filled. The university is posting both positions to ensure a sufficient applicant pool to fill this need. The hiring department will first consider applicants from the higher-level position. If the applicant pool does not yield a successful candidate, the applicant pool from the lower-level position will then be evaluated. If the lower level posting yields the successful candidate, the hiring department intends to develop the candidate in preparation for the higher level position. Applicants are encouraged to apply for either or both positions based upon their qualifications and interests.
